Ready for more rage? God of War lll has that in spades. Without giving the story away too much, Kratos violently disposes of more characters of Greek Mythology while aiming to destroy the grandaddy of them all: Zeus. It is seriously difficult to figure out which of these epic battles tops them all but I think I would have to go with the bit by bit takedown of the Titan, Chronos. Yes, Kratos has other fodder on the mind besides Gods this time around. At this point it’s more like anyone who crosses our boy’s path.
His rage and voice acting are as palatable as ever, maybe even more so than before because the stakes are raised time and time again. Kratos wields a few more weapons this time around besides his Blades of Chaos just like the other God of War games, but these others, such as the Claws of Hades, best what comes before it. As always it is worth mentioning that characteristically gratuitous violence that is mandatory for any game of the franchise. Even the quick time events still shine no matter how many people complain. Deal with it. God of War lll carries many of its predecessors’ tropes in bloody, over-the-top fashion while delivering on nearly every front. Definitely worth playing.
